When you get your mDot, it is preloaded with a firmware that operates on the region selected when you buy the device. In some cases, you need to update the firmware to work on a different region, or to upgrade to a newer firmware version.
This article explains how to load the firmware into your mDot module.
Download the latest firmware
As of this writing, the latest version is v3.2.1 You can download the latest firmware from Multitech on this link ftp://ftp.multitech.com/wireless/mtdot/dot-v3.2.1/
Flashing mDot Firmware
Flashing the firmware to your mDot module is really easy. It is assume that you have your mDot already connected to your MDK (development board). If not, please follow along the instructions here.
- Connect the dev board into one of the USB port
- Your machine should automatically detect the mDot and mount it as MULTITECH
- Copy the mdot-firmware.bin firmware into the MULTITECH drive.
That's it. Now you are ready to configure your mDot to work with your network.
