Newsletter #3 - Untapped IoT Developers Follow
Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the IOT NINJA newsletter.
WHAT WE LEARNED
One of the great things about creating new things is learning more about who our customers are and where they are at.
We had a chance to do this at our recent user workshop in Auckland, NZ (thanks to John McDermott) and 3 days later at The Things Network Conference in Adelaide, Australia.
IOT NINJA was created to make IoT easier for existing IoT developers and to make IoT available to more developers. Our solution manages the connectivity and IoT Infrastructure and provides developers the opportunity to customise the application & front end with popular JS frameworks (React, Vue, etc).
Today, the people who turn up to IoT workshops and conferences are more likely to be embedded developers than front end - and that reflects the current state of IoT. Our platform is designed to bridge the gap between them and benefit from the skills of untapped IoT Developers.
We are experiencing demand for our solution from two main areas:
-
Service providers who are being asked for IoT solutions by their clients and want a fast and easy platform solution to deliver applications to their clients. IOT NINJA enable this to be done with in house expertise at low cost with the flexibility to meet their clients bespoke requirements.
-
JS developers working in IoT who want to work on their own projects without reliance on a wider team for managing connectivity, data and other back end functions.
PLATFORM
-
We expect the Vue version of our tracking template to be available before year end.
-
Due to demand, we will be globalising our solution so that non-english speakers will also benefit from the IOT NINJA experience - French, Spanish and German will be prioritised.
-
We are now an official AWS Partner.
-
We are delighted to advise the Vodafone NB-IoT network has been operating perfectly through our platform.
-
Although we currently offer a free sandbox experience, we are regularly asked for pricing for platform use at scale and at enterprise levels of support and management. We will release this before the end of this year.
MEETUP
We are pleased to announce that we are hosting the IoT for Javascript Developer meetup. You can find our group here and you are welcome to join. This will be a monthly meetup and is co-sponsored by GridAKL and AccessNetworks. Our first event for the meetup is entitled “IoT and the role of Javascript”. It will be held at the GridAKL, John Lysaght Bldg, 101 Pakensham St West, Auckland CBD on Tuesday 17 December - this is an introduction to IoT for JS developers and we encourage them to come along.
